Owens Corning has developed significant expertise and market-leading technology in three key areas:

  1. Dry-laid non-woven production

  2. Wet-laid non-woven production

  3. Specialized coatings

By focusing innovation resources on processes and technical expertise, Owens Corning is finding new ways to deliver innovative product and service solutions that meet customer needs. Producing innovative products that improve quality of life and energy efficiencies serve as our commitment to environmental stewardship and social progress.

By leveraging our glass fiber technology, we are positioned to develop specialty non-wovens that are flexible and strong enough to withstand tensile and flexural requirements in today's complex composite solution-based products. Partnering with the world's foremost leaders in binder and coating technology, Owens Corning can develop the solution-based product to meet your needs.

Coretex™  reinforcements are wet formed non-wovens filled with microspheres. The structure of Coretex™products consists of uniformly dispersed individual filaments of Advantex® glass with a controlled porosity and thickness. Coretex™ non-wovens are available in thicknesses ranging of 0.7 mm to 4 mm and with a filling degree of 30 to 60 percent by volume.

Coretex™ products are designed to be applied bulk to sandwich materials, especially in continuous panel production, by consisting only of glass materials and micro-spheres. Coretex™ non-wovens take out unnecessary space in the laminates and lead to a weight and resin savings. The binder of Coretex™ products is insoluble in most common composite resin types.
